Tea Party Traitors & their Minions in Washington

July 12, 2011

“And this notion that eliminating tax loopholes and peeling back the overly generous tax breaks for wealthiest 2% will hurt job creation is nothing but a fantasy…In fact, the result of the Bush tax breaks was some of the lowest job creation in our nation’s history, along with an explosion of our national debt”

The Tea Party tainted Republicans in the Congress and Senate, by their abject refusal to consider any form of revenue increases through closing tax loopholes and the elimination of tax breaks for the wealthy, have confirmed our worst fears about the GOP and the Tea Party movement in general. And that is that they do not care about the welfare of our country and of Americans, and that with the demise of Al Qaeda and their leaders, the likes of John Boehner, Eric Cantor and Mitch McConnell now represent the greatest threat to our Democracy in a generation.

Their disdain for our country is obvious, and their devotion to the wealthy and the corporations is now made perfectly clear for all to see. They would rather see our country default on its obligations than cede an inch on principles that have no basis in reality, and no precedent in our history. Listen, these are the same guys who, along with colleagues on both sides of the aisle, raised the Debt Ceiling many, many times in the last decade. Not once did they tie it to budget or spending cuts. But suddenly they have these long held fiscal principles that they cannot compromise on? It just doesn’t wash.

And this notion that eliminating tax loopholes and peeling back the overly generous tax breaks for wealthiest 2% will hurt job creation is nothing but a fantasy. There has never been a shred of evidence that links the kind of tax revenue increases being proposed to the creation, or lack thereof, of jobs. In fact, after the Bush tax breaks were enacted the country experienced some of the lowest job creation in our nation’s history, along with an explosion of our national debt that we are still trying to climb out from under. Yet John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Eric Cantor and the rest of the GOP brain trust that so happily endorsed the Bush policies that created such a mess, are now trying to suggest that these same policies will suddenly work wonders in reverse and as a result, they are our only way to salvation and jobs? Really, you can’t make this stuff up!

On top of the outright lies about taxes and job creation, is the harsh reality that the overall GOP approach to the budget and our economy, as outlined by their new golden boy, House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan, represents an incredibly huge windfall for the richest Americans. As an analysis by the Center for Tax Justice reveals, even though Ryan features large aggregate tax cuts, eighty percent of Americans would actually pay 4.6% more of their annual income on higher taxes under his plan, meaning that the bulk of any reduction in taxes will be showered upon the top 20% of earners!

Rest assured that millions of Americans can see through this charade being perpetrated by the GOP and the corporate-controlled Tea Party powers, and there will be retribution at the ballot box. We cannot allow the Tea Party traitors and their minions in the GOP, who would rather see the destruction of our Democracy in the pursuit of the narrow interests of the wealthiest among us, to succeed.

This is in response to HYDE REPORT. Hey Buddy, I’m one of those recipients of the cheques that are released. Why don’t you play “RUSSIAN ROULETTE” with your own money. I use that money to feed, house myself and my children because I’m handicapped. I’m very sorry but I have to say I trust President Obama MORE with his BIG government than I do with Eric Cantor’s SMALL government because there is more willingness to COMPROMISE to get things done. I feel this because of what I’m seeing with my own eyes. If Tea Party Representatives are going to hold out for cuts in Social Security, Medicare, etc and NOT raise the money to pay for them, then I agree whole-heartedly with Harry Reid in saying that they are “childish!” It isn’t UNREASONABLE to ask Millionaires and Billionaires to pay the FAIR share for a change. Tea Party Representatives had better get it in their skulls that compromising will produce much better results than looking stupid to the Country!!! SHOW SOME RESPECT, DECORUM AND HOME TRAINING!!!!! First Joe Wilson and now Cantor. What are we, the American People, to think!!!!!

The Constitution does matter and all unauthorized Department sof The Federal Government
should be abolished… The $106,000 limit on Soc. Security should be abolished so all pay 6.2%.. A Tariff Revenue System of 20 – 30% needs to be established to raise revenue and Build up our natuion’s economy !!

Actually, Obama was being positive by saying that Social Security checks might not be mailed out unless the debt ceiling is passed. They almost certainly will not be. On August 3rd we take in 12 billion dollars in taxes. We have to pay out 23 billion dollars to SS.

Anyone with an internet connection can see what the Federal government spends money on. Most of this isn’t ‘waste’ or big government, it is simply the aftershock of the worst economic period in 80 years. Currently, partly due to our historically low tax revenues as a percentage of GDP, the Federal government can only finance the three largest programs – Social Security, Unemployment Insurance and Defense – along with net interest payments, with actual revenues. All of the rest; Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran’s Benefits, Education, Science and a host of other programs is financed through debt. This is not the result of Obama’s policies, this is almost entirely George W. Bush’s legacy.

When people talk about small government and waste in expenditures, it always stuns me that they listen to the news without actually checking the government budget. It’s not a hard thing to do, and if more did it this country would soon realize that taxes must be raised if SS, Healthcare and Unemployment Insurance are to survive (all of which the majority of Americans do not want cut). Taxes must be raised if important programs are to be kept safe.

I like your thinking….The GOP have been screwing the people since Ronald Reagan spread the lies about “welfare queens” and then cut taxes for the rich while raising them for everyone else.
Where is the “liberal press” when you need one………..or just an honest press that will give the facts.

Possibly the most assinine article ever written… Nothing in this article supports the claims put forth in this article… I am embarrassed for you actually linking to the article….

To put the record straight… Tea Party is for SMALL GOVERNMENT… period… Simple… If that is fringe/radical/crazy… Well then I don’t want to be normal…

Articles like this one is designed for one purpose… To scare people…

Much like Obama stating that SS checks might not be mailed out if this isn’t passed… It only shows his WEAK hand… He is a Rookie and he shows it often.

Yes, have seen it often. Historical reality brings out the worst in Tea Party traitors. Reality…tax policy / job creation,no link. Debt ceiling / spending policy, no link in the history of our government. Tea Party dogma over the best interests of our Republic? Exhibit A – The faux debt ceiling crisis created by the GOP and the minions of the Tea Party. Truth hurts.

Oh yeah, and some of the country’s greatest job expansion, in the 50’s and 60’s occurred with an effective 90% tax rate on top earners…OUCH!

Why is the Tea Party for Small Govererment? Which programs are you willing to cancel?
Do you want to get rid of the dept that keeps the medicine clean, the food healthy, the ones that keep the water clean? Do you want to get rid of the military? Or how about health care for the elderly or even those idiots who do not want to carry insurance/get in a car wreck/ come into my ER and NEVER have any money to pay the hospital?
If you really want small govt. you can always move to Mexico where you have to pay for security if you want it…..How about Somalia with it’s small govt? And where were you when George W. gave those tax breaks to stop money comming into the govt. while at the same time putting TWO wars on America’s credit card? I guess you just can’t handle reality.
